Designed for Comfort: Infiniti Qx50

Shereen Shabnam

The Infiniti QX50 is crafted for years of comfortable driving. It offers a premium in-cabin experience with the best of technology and entertainment, superior performance and handling that adapts to the driver and an exterior that is distinctively attractive. The journey starts with the Intelligent Key – simply press the switch to unlock comfort, performance, and entertainment features, all that can be pre-set to the driver’s preference.

INTERIOR

The ergonomic cabin has been meticulously designed around the driver and is impressively spacious. It is elegant and accentuates the feeling of openess plus the ambient lighting sets the mood for a relaxing atmosphere.

The INFINITI QX50 is packed with advanced technology elements. We love the INFINITI InTouch™, where the GPS is built right into the INFINITI QX50’s dashboard with visual maps and voice commands and access to smartphone’s features.

Apple CarPlay® maps your favorite apps on board. Plus the Bose® Performance Series Audio system with Advanced Staging Technology offers exceptional sound.

We loved the oval-shaped leather wheel grip finished in leather to make gripping it on long journeys more comfortable.

EXTERIOR

The muscular lines, powerful grille and swept back headlights and the aerodynamic rear are key highlights. We love the range of colors the QX50 comes in and shades like Graphite Shadow and Hermosa Blue make it more exotic. For wheels, the INFINITI QX50 has two styles and sizes of alloys to choose from: 19-inch Bright Metallic Gray to 20-inch Dark Painted Aluminum.

DRIVE ASSIST TECHNOLOGIES

The around View® Monitor with Moving Object Detection gave us 360-degree visibility when reversing and gave alerts when something was close to our surrounding area. Sensors also detected when someone was in the blind spot area. The Lane Departure Warning and Prevention system eased us back to the lane seamlessly.

Other features we found useful was the Backup Collision Intervention senses so if a large object is detected behind your vehicle it gives alerts and uses the brakes if needed.

The onboard sensors can sense up to two cars ahead and alerts the driver to a sudden reduction in speed and potentially avoid a collision. Sensors also help watch for vehicles and pedestrians ahead.

PERFORMANCE & HANDLING

The INFINITI QX50 has the world’s first production VC-Turbo engine. Over 20-years in development, this engineering milestone instantly adapts to your needs.

The four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine physically transforms to produce your choice of either thrilling sports responsiveness or impressive efficiency.

The VC-Turbo lets you harness the exhilarating performance of 268 horsepower and 380 nm of torque, or go for economy and achieve up to 27 mpg for lower fuel costs.

OUR VERDICT

Handling the QX50 was a joy – if gave us a smooth and effortless drive experience with a multitude of drive and handling technologies
