Designed for the city, the new ASX compact SUV offers wide-ranging versatility and it was a pleasure driving it all week in the city. Its lightweight, compact body combined with an SUV’s commanding driver sightlines provide the ASX with added safety and ease of drivability.
The new model features a host of exterior and interior upgrades with its revamped, tough and rugged front and rear exterior design, versatile cargo area, electronically-controlled 4WD system, intelligent safety features and a variety of smart new technologies.
Exterior
Derived from the design concept “Impact and Impulse”, the refined and unique design projects a strong image, making the exterior of the ASX look more rugged. The front bumper embraces the central protective shape from both sides and the squared horizontal and vertical line treatment of the grille and the skid plate under the bumper express strength and toughness.
The new styling makes the hood lower, adding to the presence projected by the front end and visibility. The distinctive LED lighting layout, which houses the turn signals, daytime running lights and fog lamps at the ends of the bumper, gives that distinctive look on the ASX’s front end.
On the rear of the car, the ASX uses LED rear combination lamps (except for turn signals) in a sharp-looking design that stretches across the width of the car and accentuates the wide stance. The skid plate styling of the underside of the bumper projects a look of ruggedness.
The Interior
The interior feels more spacious now, thanks to the LED illuminated panoramic glass roof. The front centre armrest and built-in compartment for a more comfortable drive.
For optimum entertainment experience, the new 8-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) is coupled with premium sound system which is ideal for taking handsfree calls and enjoying music.
Performance
Available in both 2WD and 4WD options, the ASX is powered by a 2.0L MIVEC ECI-MULTI engine realizes an output of 110 (150)/6,000 kW (PS)/rpm and a maximum torque of 197 (20.1)/4,200 N-m (kg-m)/rpm.
The new engine is mated to an Intelligent and Innovative Vehicle Electronics Control System (INVECS- III) continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with 6-speed Sports Mode.The shock absorbers and stabilizers are precision-tuned for responsive handling and sporty, comfortable performance.

With a spacious and versatile cargo area and with five occupants inside, the ASX makes it convenient to carry anything for any adventure. It is available in 7 different vibrant exterior colors and fun to drive.
