Cessna Citation M2
By Shereen Shabnam
Stepping up to a jet has never been easier. Whether for corporate, charter or private use, the single pilot Citation M2 is the entry-level jet both companies and owner pilots have been asking for. With Garmin G3000 avionics, a redesigned interior with seating for seven and powerful performance, the M2 is created with simplicity and productivity in mind.
The Citation® M2® jet is the ultimate combination of beauty and efficiency. Perfect for corporate, charter or private use, the M2 features a redesigned interior with excellent in-cabin technologies, updated touch-controlled avionics suited for a single pilot and two powerful Williams FJ44 engines, facilitating cruising speed of up to 400 knots.
The M2 is equipped with a fully digital, dual-channel autopilot system equipped with many features for added safety, redundancy and reliability. Integrating data from the avionics system, the AP is built to inspire confidence while ensuring optimum smoothness and comfort. User-friendly touch screens and Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT™) provides a clear, concise picture of your flying environment.
The system uses pre-stored airspeed-limit data along with autopilot gains that are scheduled to optimize performance to offer excellent stability and control. The autopilot maximizes aircraft performance with precise lateral and vertical navigation guidance for all phases of flight.
Textron Aviation aircraft are engineered to be flexible and accommodating to meet a number of mission specific challenges. The autopilot system is simple and straightforward to operate yet sophisticated and state-of-the-art, which makes flying the M2 easier, consistent and more enjoyable.
LinxUs is compatible on the Citation M2 when equipped with the Garmin GDL™59 (Wi-Fi Datalink) and Garmin GSR™56 (Iridium Satellite Receiver). LinxUs and LinxUs Air work with the Central Diagnostics Maintenance system (CDMS) and function as a fault-isolation system that monitors the aircraft 100 percent of the time.
In the event of an onboard issue, actionable answers are provided in real time, resulting in faster turnaround to get the aircraft back in the air. Recently Citation M2 business jet received certification to operate at airports with an elevation up to 14,000 feet.
The M2 is on track to reach its 100th delivery in the fourth quarter of this year. From the popular entry-level Citation Mustang and M2 jets, to the upgraded efficiency and comfort of the CJ3+ and the top performing CJ4, Cessna’s light business jets have evolved to offer a range of capabilities, systems and options unmatched in its class.
Cessna’s Citation series of jets are the most popular line of business jets ever produced, with over 6,750 jets delivered to customers around the world. Cessna continues to lead the light jet segment, giving customers the widest product range on the market and unmatched in its category, the M2 has proven to be the most sold business jet in its class.
