The first thing I notice as I get into the Opel Insignia is the space. It has more leg room and feeling of space than most of the recent sedans I have driven. The Opel Insignia is a practical, easy to drive car for a large family because of the in-cabin space. This was my first drive in an Insignia and it offered more features than I expected given the price point in our market.
EXTERIOR
The new Insignia Grand Sport has a sleek modern design and distinctive persona, that lives up to its name. The 17 ” alloy wheels, the unique Opel ‘wing’ signature LED front and rear lights, twin chrome-tipped bezels and thesunroof gives it a premium look. It has overall a sport, coupe like feel on the exterior.
INTERIOR
The new Insignia Grand Sport leaves nothing out to provide a pleasant drive. Elegant, ergonomic and spacious, the new Insignia is a fully driver-focussed interior. The Head-Up Displayprojects key information and includes dual-zone automatic AC, electronic parking brake, cruise control and ventilated leather seats with memory. Digital connectivity, an onboard navigation system, a large innovative colour touch screen and high-quality audio: the new Insignia’s top-of-the-line infotainment system has it all.
PERFORMANCE
The new Insignia Grand Sport, a midsize sedan offers more performance with less emissions and lower fuel consumption with a broad range of different engines for a truly exciting drive. Only sold in some GCC countries, the Insignia Grand Sport gets a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine with front-wheel-drive. Safety features include front, side and curtain airbags, forward collision alert, lane-departure warning, lane keeping assist, ESP and ABS.
VERDICT
The new Insignia Grand Sport offers drivers a premium level of comfort with cooling features that make driving more comfortable during this summer. It offers a large load capacity and features many flexible storage solutions. It seats five passengers with ample space in the boot. The sedan also offers more performance with less emissions and lower fuel consumption with a broad range of different engines for a truly exciting drive.
