Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Italy’s Regional Government Sign MOU to Consolidate Institutional and Business Relationship

Italian National Football Team Manager Roberto Mancini is back on the Expo pitch as Regione Marche’s Ambassador to promote the best this region has to offer

Marche, Land of Excellence“, officially kicked off yesterday in the frame of the Italy’s Pavilion at Expo2020.

An array of press appointments between 21-26 February will showcase the sectorial excellence of the central Italy’s region Marche, which didn’t go unnoticed by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum either. In fact as part of the exclusive press appointment held yesterday at the Italy Pavilion’s Amphitheater, a photo exhibition was presented while a MOU was countersigned by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Regione Marche and Italy’s Chamber of Commerce, a way to consolidate further the long-time relationship between the economies and Governments of the two countries.

“It’s time to foster our dialogue with the UAE while we project Marche onto an international stage” said Regione Marche’s Chairman, Francesco Acquaroli. “The sign-off of this MOU is a great opportunity to get Marche closer to the UAE, re-establishing a friendship made of mutual commitment and dialog for the good development of our respective economies”, added Regione Marche’s VP, Mirco Carloni.


Attending the press conference were several UAE and Italy’s authorities, among which the Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce, H.E. Hamad Buamin; DCC VP, Mr. Hassan Al Hashemi; UAE former Minister of Economy, H. E.  Sultan Al Mansoori;  Italy’s General Consul, Giuseppe Finocchiaro; CEO and Co-Founder of Alabbar Enterprises, Rashid Alabbar. Virtually connected were also the Chairman of Marche’s Chamber of Commerce, Gino Sabatini; the Director at ITA (Italian Trade Agency), Roberto Luongo; and Italy’s National Football Team Manager and Regione Marche’s Ambassador, Roberto Mancini who showed appreciation and pride for his native roots.

“We really look forward to contributing to the success and mutual agreement between Dubai’s authorities and Regione Marche’s companies” added H.E. Hamad Buamim. “I am hopeful that the agreement between our two countries’ Chambers of Commerce will facilitate this objective.

The MOU signing was followed by the Forum “Beauty and Sustainability” which was attended by, other than the above mentioned speakers and special guests, by Massimiliano Polacco from the Chamber of Commerce’ s Board, and Giorgio Calcagnini from University of Urbino (Marche).

The MOU intends to promote the awareness of the UAE and Italy’s economic systems to make them respectively appealing while activating a shared promotional strategy for their respective key-markets, including (but not limited to):

  • Facilitating the know-how and mutual exchange of info pertaining the countries’ respective markets;
  • Promoting awareness initiatives related to the respective economic systems and promo activities
  • Sustaining direct investment programs or local companies’ participation in joint ventures both in the UAE and/or Marche Region
