With the return of cooler temperatures and clear skies, October ushers in Dubai’s most anticipated outdoor season. Setting the pace for the city’s lifestyle and dining scene, Shangri-La Dubai unveils an irresistible line-up of experiences that span sky-high cocktails, immersive Asian cuisine, and vibrant poolside evenings.

Horizon 42 – Soar Above the City

The newly launched Horizon 42 rooftop pop-up bar has already captured the imagination of the city. Perched on the hotel’s 42nd floor, this sleek and contemporary space offers unrivalled views of the Burj Khalifa and Downtown skyline. By day, it’s a chic perch for sunset aperitivo, and by night, it transforms into an effortlessly stylish lounge for cocktails under the stars. With its modern aesthetic and laid-back yet elevated vibe, Horizon 42 redefines Dubai’s rooftop culture.

The venue also introduces a unique Sunset Brunch on the first Saturday of every month. From lobster and oysters to beef Wellington, the menu pairs culinary indulgence with golden hour views and live entertainment, creating an evening brunch unlike any other. Meanwhile, Aperitivo with Altitude has quickly become a daily ritual, where guests enjoy premium drinks and gourmet bites against panoramic sunset backdrops.

Taste of Shangri-La – A Culinary Journey Across Asia

October also sees the launch of Taste of Shangri-La, a month-long gastronomic celebration that pays tribute to the rich culinary traditions of Asia. Across the hotel’s signature dining venues, guests can savour a tapestry of flavours curated by master chefs.

At Shang Palace, Chef Peter Lau presents a limited-edition four-course menu that blends heritage with innovation. Inspired by Cantonese, Lu, and Hainanese traditions, the dishes include inventive highlights such as coriander squid and salmon roe with purple rice rolls, truffle vegetable cabbage wraps, braised beef rib with satay sauce, and a glutinous rice duo finished with coconut snowflake. Each course is a nod to both refinement and creativity.

Meanwhile, Hoi An celebrates the soul of Vietnamese cuisine under the vision of Chef Linh Van Tan Nguyen. His five-course menu reinterprets market-inspired favourites, from traditional pho with Wagyu beef to lobster pomelo salad and lotus-baked seabass with kumquat compote. The experience concludes with a lemongrass crème brûlée — a dessert that elegantly bridges East and West.

ikandy ultralounge – Poolside Energy and Nightlife Vibes

By the pool, ikandy ultralounge offers the ultimate fusion of laid-back afternoons and dynamic evenings, all framed by picture-perfect Burj Khalifa views. This urban oasis comes alive every weekend with curated entertainment and live acts.

Fridays belong to iKandy Fridays, where DJ Azi sets the tone for high-energy evenings accompanied by free-flow beverages and poolside revelry. On Sundays, the spotlight shifts to Live with 4AM, a band that blends pop, reggae, indie, and African sounds to close the weekend on a soulful, uplifting note.

A Season to Remember

From the city’s newest rooftop bar to immersive culinary journeys and poolside entertainment, Shangri-La Dubai is curating experiences that celebrate the best of Dubai’s lifestyle. As the cooler months unfold, the hotel invites residents and visitors alike to indulge, connect, and create unforgettable memories.
