Ramadan Dining Where Culinary Craft Meets Artificial Intelligence

Shereen Shabnam

Dubai is a city that constantly reinvents the dining experience and Woohoo at Kempinski The Boulevard delivers something genuinely forward-thinking this Ramadan. Positioned as the world’s first AI-driven restaurant, the concept brings together artificial intelligence and culinary mastery but without losing the warmth and soul that define Iftar.

At the helm is Executive Chef Doğukan Düğüncü, whose international experience is evident in the finesse of every plate. While Woohoo’s broader culinary direction this holy month is shaped in collaboration with AI Chef Aiman, the Iftar menu is a deeply personal expression by Chef Doğukan and his brigade, rooted in Middle Eastern tradition with refined Turkish nuances.

The space itself feels cinematic both at Woohoo and the private dining area known as Spock by Woohoo. Large-scale holographic visuals, immersive glitch-art projections and subtle AI integrations create a multi-sensory environment that feels unmistakably Dubai. Yet as the Maghrib call to prayer marks the moment to break the fast, the atmosphere shifts, becoming intimate, elegant and reverent. In the evening, the venue transitions from serene Iftar setting to a lively social destination.

The iftar experience begins generously with fresh salads and mezze presented with refinement rather than excess. Comforting soups followed, setting the tone for warm highlights that showcase Chef Doğukan’s Turkish heritage, and our favourite was the aubergine dolma with satisfying richness.

Woohoo’s full à la carte menu remains available throughout Ramadan, so we were also able to explore its more experimental side. Signature creations such as Dinosaur Tartar, Wagyu skewers and meat stuffed ravioli which showcases the restaurant’s bold AI-driven philosophy, executed with precision. We also enjoyed a delectable tartare made from what chef calls dinosaur style “prehistoric meat.” As there was a pescatarian on our table, Chef generously curated numerous sushi platters, some sashimi and even did a special creamy pasta dish with sea urchin which was mouthwatering.

Dessert arrives with full drama presented in little planet like dishes together with the classic Turkish baklava paired with vanilla ice cream. Priced at AED 275 per person, the experience offers both culinary depth and an immersive environment that elevates the traditional Iftar format. A curated Suhoor offering from 10:00 PM extends the evening in a relaxed, visually captivating setting.

Woohoo succeeds because it understands balance: technology enhances the experience, but it is the attentiveness of the team and Chef Doğukan’s thoughtful execution that define the evening. In a market saturated with Ramadan offerings, this is one that genuinely feels new.
