The Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year’s global panel is excited to announce the addition of two new categories to the current ones: The Tech Award will reward the most innovative and cutting-edge brand in terms of technology, and the Sandy Myhre Award will honour the brand that has shown the most sensitivity towards women drivers, their preferences and needs.
The winners of the WWCOTY categories (Urban Model, Compact SUV, Large Car, Large SUV, 4X4 and Pick-Up, Performance Cars, Sandy Myhre Award and Best Technology) will be announced on 8 January 2025.
Best Tech Award
With this newly-established award, WWCOTY will be honouring exceptional technological features improving automotive development, safety, passenger entertainment and vehicle connectivity within present and future traffic systems.
This important award will recognise outstanding achievements of automotive companies that show excellence in technology, with emphasis on innovation, impact, user experience, creativity, scalability and overall value of the technology already implemented in a car.
Sandy Myhre Award
The Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year wants to recognise in its awards the car brand that is most sensitive to the world of women. The Sandy Myhre Award will highlight the manufacturers’ commitment to women in the areas of workplace inclusion, product design and advertising campaigns, among others.
With this award, the Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year not only draws the attention of the industry to the needs and preferences of women in mobility, but also pays tribute to the founder of WWCOTY, Sandy Myhre.
Sandy, from New Zealand, together with a group of eight journalists, some of whom are still with WWCOTY today, started this fascinating organisation in 2009. It now has representatives from in 55 countries and has a worldwide audience of over 500 million people.
