Strength and Prestige Collide at the UAE President’s Cup for Purebred Arabians on Preakness Stakes Day

Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the fourth leg of the 32nd edition of the UAE President’s Cup Series for Purebred Arabian Horses will take place tomorrow, Saturday, May 17, at the historic Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland.

This iconic race is held as part of the celebrations for the 150th Preakness Stakes, one of the American Triple Crown’s most prestigious races. The UAE President’s Cup, recognized globally as the most prominent international series for Purebred Arabians, makes a powerful statement with its inclusion in this landmark event—underscoring both its global prestige and the UAE’s enduring commitment to preserving and promoting the legacy of Arabian horse racing.

The UAE President’s Cup is a cornerstone of the international effort to elevate Arabian horse racing, empower breeders and owners, and safeguard the noble heritage of the Arabian breed.

As part of tomorrow’s action-packed Preakness program, the Group 1 UAE President’s Cup will headline the evening lineup at 7:43 p.m. (Maryland time). The race will be run over 1 1/16 miles (1700 meters) with a total prize purse of $200,000, and is open to Purebred Arabians aged four years and older. It has drawn a competitive field of elite horses, trainers, owners, and jockeys from across the U.S. and the global Arabian racing community.

This year’s contenders include:

  • RB Motherload – Trained by Jerenesto Torrez, bred by Dianne K. Waldron, and owned by Rosebrook Farms LLC
  • AA Take A Chance – Trained by Rhonda Tuley, bred by Dianne Waldron & Garrett Ford, owned by Annette M. Lindstrom
  • Like Moulin Rouge – Trained and bred by Ken Danyluk
  • WMA Smoke Signal – Trained by Rhonda Tuley, bred and owned by Rita Deleon
  • WMA Big Baby – Trained by Rhonda Tuley, bred and owned by Rita Deleon
  • RB Grand Slam – Trained by Jerenesto Torrez, bred by Dianne K. Waldron, owned by Rosebrook Farms LLC
  • TM Purncess – Trained by Rhonda Tuley, bred by L. Todd Moak
  • Quick Rae AA – Trained by Nicole Ruggeri, bred by Joseph or Betty Gillis, and owned by Nicole & Andre Ruggeri

Notable entrants include:

  • RB Motherload, runner-up in his latest Houston start
  • AA Take A Chance, known for his explosive closing speed
  • RB Grand Slam, riding the momentum of consecutive recent victories
