On January 22, 2025, CEO Clubs Members visited the Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi for exploring high-value investment, trade, and tourism opportunities in Zimbabwe. This highly anticipated event provided a unique platform for business leaders and innovators to engage with key diplomatic and economic stakeholders to discuss strategic economic growth areas, including sectors vital to Zimbabwe’s continued development.
The event began with a warm and insightful welcome from Mr. Shaw Chimombe, Economic & Commercial Counsellor of Zimbabwe, who set the tone for the day, emphasizing the importance of fostering bilateral economic ties and sustainable growth. H.E. Lovemore Mazemo, Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe, took the floor to deliver a comprehensive overview of the country’s dynamic economic landscape. He highlighted key investment opportunities across multiple sectors, including agriculture, mining (gold, platinum, and diamonds), energy, infrastructure,tourism, hospitality, and resort development. The Ambassador also emphasized Zimbabwe’s potential as a strategic location for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), underscoring the government’s commitment to creating a favorable economic environment for international business ventures.
A standout feature of the event was the presentation on the ZIM Cyber City project in Harare. The project aims to establish a world-class Smart City and one-stop investment services hub, which is designed to integrate advanced ICT infrastructure with key government services. This transformative initiative positions Zimbabwe as a leader in the digital economy, providing businesses with a streamlined platform to engage with regulatory authorities, access investment opportunities, and contribute to Zimbabwe’s digital transformation.
