Zayed National Museum, the national museum of the United Arab Emirates, launched the first session of its ‘From Museum to Community: A Living Cultural Dialogue Across the Emirates’ programme at Al Shindagha Museum in Dubai, the UAE’s largest heritage museum and a flagship cultural asset under Dubai Culture. The initiative carries the institution’s narrative into communities across the country.

The session By Our Coasts: Maritime Heritage and the Ties that Bind UAE Communities explored the UAE’s deep-rooted maritime heritage and its enduring impact on Emirati identity, highlighting traditional seafaring practices from pearl diving and how building to songs and stories passed down through generations.
Through a series of dialogue sessions, the programme connects the public with cultural experts, highlighting lived experiences, community knowledge and discoveries that have helped to shape the national story and enrich the museum’s galleries and collections.
The programme will continue across the UAE until June 2026.
