Auditor Grant Thornton to oversee Women’s World Car of the Year voting process

WWCOTY renews its agreement with Grant Thornton. The auditing firm will guarantee the reliability, authenticity and accuracy of the voting for the best car of the year.

The voting process for the Women’s World Car of the Year (WWCOTY) will once again be monitored by Grant Thornton from New Zealand. The supervision of this highly acclaimed firm will again guarantee the reliability, authenticity and accuracy of the votes cast by dozens of women motoring journalists from across the world.

The WWCOTY voting consists of two phases. In the first stage, the best vehicles will be chosen according to their category. The winner of each section goes forward to a final vote to determine the overall winner.

After the votes have been scrutinised by Grant Thornton, the Women’s World Car of the Year will announce the results. The category winners will be revealed on February 15th. The supreme winner of the Women’s World Car of the Year will be announced on March 8, at 00:00 in New Zealand, coinciding with International Women’s Day.

Grant Thornton, one of the world’s leading networks of independent assurance, tax and advisory firms, has been involved with the Women’s World Car of the Year since the judging panel was founded in 2009. Its expertise and rigour have been instrumental in establishing WWCOTY as an independent, international judging panel.

About Women’s World Car of the Year
Women’s World Car of the Year is the only car awards group in the world comprising exclusively women motoring journalists. It was created in 2009 by New Zealand motoring journalist Sandy Myhre. She is currently the Honorary President while Marta García is the Executive President.

The aim of this unique award is to recognise the best cars of the year and to give a voice to women in the automotive world. The voting criteria are based on the same principles that guide any driver when choosing a car. The selections are not a ‘woman’s car’ because such categories do not exist. Aspects such as safety, quality, price, design, ease of driving, benefits and environmental footprint, among others, are considered when casting the votes.

However, beyond choosing the best cars of the year, our goal is also to give visibility to women in the automotive world and to contribute to making women’s voices heard on all continents because mobility for a woman means access to many personal and professional possibilities.
